A good night's sleep ends with clearing skies and thoughts of coffee.
Outside the shops, there are several interesting vehicles, form an electric modern-style cart, to an old 1977 Jeep Cherokee. Drew has had it for years and it still gets him to and from the valley.
Now the sun starts baking out the rain and snow. Degnan's is getting hot from the outside in.
Bikers heading across the mountains also stop for breakfast on their way through Yosemite. We see them a little later slowly climbing out toward the Tioga Road. Note the small sprocket on the crank gearset needed for mountain work.
As we climb out and along the Tioga Road, there is still snow on both sides of the road, heavy in places. At Olmstead Point, the kids let off steam with snowball fights. Jay, Saima and Aslan are having a break while the kids get the exercise.
Not too soon after, there's Tuolumne Meadows. The shuttle bus is running although there aren't too many pickups or dropoffs right now. I wonder how much snow was on the pickup this time yesterday...
Now we're on the 395 heading South, and off in the distance are the White Mountains. Desert, here we come!
